The RLC of Texas has endorsed Keith Strahan for the HD 18 race. As a local caucus, we can only endorse local elections. The Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas reviewed and endorsed Mr. Strahan. We wish Mr. Strahan the best of luck. He has worked tirelessly for Personal Liberty and Grassroots Republicans and we have full faith his allegiance is with the residents of HD 18, not Austin lobbyists.
We are currently reviewing all three survey's from the candidates for sheriff. But in this installment, we will address the Republican Precinct Chair races.
Precinct Chair races for the local Republican Party don't get much attention. They are down ballot, and as of publishing, the local party doesn't even have the three contested races listed. However, as far as direct local party impact, they hold one of the most important roles in the party structure. These ladies and gentlemen make up the Executive Committee of the local party. They establish the rules and bylaws on how the local party functions. They are also tasked with turning out the Republican base which can make major difference in outcomes of State and National races.
This brings us to the great people of Kenefick, or Precinct 21. This race is between Kristina Perry and Terri Bivins. The RLC strongly supports Kristina Perry. We feel confident with the growth in the local party and the seating of a new County Chairman she will bring a fair understanding of the rules, bylaws and party processes without dividing members. The Republican voters in Kenefick can have confidence in her integrity and in her representing their views. We cannot, with confidence, especially with some actions as of late, believe the other candidate can achieve these goals.
The next contested race is up near Cleveland, or Precinct 8. The candidates are Doc Sikes and Ken Rutter. Ken Rutter has served well. Doc Sikes brings strong conservative beliefs and youth the party desperately needs. The RLC has no opinion on this race as of yet, but we are talking with both candidates.
Lastly, is Dayton, or Precinct 10. The candidates are Jeff LeBlanc and Ashley Daniels. Both of these candidates are active Republicans and work hard for the party state wide. Ashley works with the Young Republicans and candidates in various races. Jeff LeBlanc works with the Republican Liberty Caucus and has also worked with candidates in various races. Dayton is blessed to have a choice between two good candidates. We of course, endorse Mr. LeBlanc as he has served our group well. He has not only worked locally but statewide. There are not many locally that can compare to his grasp on rules, bylaws and proper party processes. He would represent precinct 10 with integrity and honor.
